- 1967 The Boyarynya Morozova by V. I. Surikov (1887)

i love both paintings on the postcards, one for its realism and the other for the atmosphere..:)
ReplyDeleteThe Russians produce such a variety of wonderful art on their stamps. These postcards are a treat and agi sums it up perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSuper cards as are the stamps.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the artwork more on the larger images. Isn't that the issue with some stamps? the space to work is so small, it helps to have artwork that will still 'project' so to speak, in that smaller space.
ReplyDeletethank you for joining in this week.
Im seriously captivated by the USSR stamps posted today...so neat, so rich in detail, just fabulous!
ReplyDeletemore Russian artists I'd never heard of until now!
