Pennsylvania Turnpike -- America's Dream Highway



East of the Blue Mt. Tunnel, the Turnpike runs straight as a string for long distances through the fertile Cumberland Valley, a stretch for thirteen miles without a curve. It is the longest straight away in Pennsylvania. One of the interchange terminus gates at Irwin and Carlisle, Pa., points of entering and leaving the Turnpike, is shown in top view.
