Santa Claus Fantasies

The 1984 contemporary U. S. Christmas stamp was issued in Jamaica, New York, home of Danny LaBoccetta, one of the winners in the first nationwide student stamp design project sponsored by the US Postal Service in 1982. LaBoccetta was eight years old and a third-grade student when he executed his design featuring a cheerful Santa Claus with a sack of toys. 1. It's most effective because it retains the 'drawing' of a child.
Very appropriate for the season even if postmarked October.

    1. It is postmarked on the "first day of issue." Christmas stamps are issued well before Christmas.

  3. Children? My drawing looks a lot like that today & I am way past Children. And in keeping with the season, a little advice, I try do do what it says on the medicine bottle. "Keep away from Children" Hope that put a smile on your face. Merry Christmas to all.

  6. A lovely stamp! Great to see the pencil lines (I like colour pencils) and such a gentle smile of Santa. Danny must be almost 40 years old now...
    Merry Christmas to all!
