Tours of movie star homes in Southern California were popular with tourists, and pictures of many of the stars' homes were published on postcards. Over the last couple of weeks, I participated in an extended "discussion" GOING HOLLYWOOOD on the Vintage Postcard Forum. You can see many other postcards of movie star homes as well as other attractions in Hollywood and Los Angeles there.
The Vintage Postcard Forum is a great site for anyone interested in vintage postcards. Hope to see you there!
P.S. Thanks to Beth for pointing out that today is Friday the 13th. I posted a Good Luck postcard in the Vintage Postcard Forum here.
Queen of the Hill...:)
ReplyDeleteAlas, I have no Hollywood cards! Happy PFF.
ReplyDeleteThe eyes have it!
ReplyDeleteAlthough her house is still relatively modest for today's movie stars, it seems to be more spacious than a lot of the movie star houses at the time.
ReplyDeleteA house surrounded by flowers a nice result from those Road films.
ReplyDeleteWonderful linen card, such beautiful colors for such a beautiful woman! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteLove this postcard... I have several of the stars cards similar to this one... I just love the variety of cards out there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. PFF
Thanks for stopping by.
Nice look beyond the gates so to speak. Thanks for the reminder about the vintage postcard forum. I need to catch up.
ReplyDeleteSultry! Love her in those Road pictures.
ReplyDeleteHello Postcardy, thank you for your visit to my post on Vintage Thurs. I am trying to catch up with my visits since I was gone. I am home now and happy to be visiting once again.
ReplyDeleteI love your vintage Dorothy Lamour postcard. She was a favorite of mine and I love to see her old movies. Movie star postcards are fun to collect. They are not very common these days. Lucky you to have this one.
Hugs, Jeanne
Love the postcard and story!
