Arizona — 113,956 sq. m., of which 146 sq. m. is water; 5th state in size; admitted to the Union in 1912. State flower - Saguaro (cactus). Capital - Phoenix. One of the greatest sources of copper in the world. Mining and smelting is the leading industry. Places of interest: Roosevelt Dam in Salt River; Coolidge Dam in Gila River; Colorado River steel arch bridge at Topock, span 592 ft.;
